Get To know me
Born and raised in Redwood City, I am seeking election to represent City Council District 7 with a deep commitment to fostering an informed and engaged community. My roots in this vibrant city run deep, and as I continue to raise my family here, I am dedicated to ensuring that Redwood City remains a thriving, inclusive, and supportive environment for all its residents.
With a diverse background spanning both the private and nonprofit sectors, I am equipped with the experience and insight needed to address the pressing issues that impact our community. My professional journey has taught me the value of collaboration, strategic planning, and a solutions-oriented approach—qualities that I will bring to the City Council to make meaningful progress on behalf of our residents.
My priorities as your representative will focus on several key areas:
-
Our parks and recreation spaces are vital to the quality of life in Redwood City. I am committed to ensuring these facilities are not only well-maintained but also expanded and enhanced to meet the growing needs of our community. By investing in our parks, we foster a sense of belonging and provide safe, accessible spaces for all to enjoy.
-
Education is the cornerstone of a strong community. I will work tirelessly to build and strengthen partnerships with our public schools, ensuring that families have access to the support they need. This includes advocating for more accessible childcare options and early learning opportunities that set our youngest residents on the path to success.
-
In a rapidly growing city, it is essential to provide reliable and efficient transportation alternatives. I will focus on improving our transportation infrastructure, expanding alternatives that reduce congestion, and enhancing safety measures to ensure that all residents, particularly our youth and seniors, can move through our city safely and efficiently.
As a Redwood City Parks and Recreation Commissioner for the past 12 years, I have had the privilege of contributing to several impactful projects that have enriched our city's amenities and strengthened our community bonds. These include the development of the Veterans Memorial/YMCA, the creation of the inclusive Magical Bridge Playground, the establishment of the Stulsaft dog area, and the redesign of Linden Park. Each of these projects has played a part in making our city a better place to live, work, and play.
Looking forward, I am focused on implementing strategies that will not only strengthen our neighborhoods but also advance opportunities for small businesses and stimulate economic growth. I understand the challenges faced by our local businesses and am committed to fostering an environment where they can thrive, creating jobs and contributing to the vibrancy of our local economy.
As a parent with a daughter in public school, I know firsthand the importance of community involvement. I actively volunteer with local programs such as Project Cornerstone, Girl Scouts, and Art in Action, which allows me to stay connected with the community and understand the needs and concerns of fellow parents and residents. This involvement gives me a unique perspective on the challenges our families face and the opportunities we have to make Redwood City an even better place for our children to grow up.
I respectfully ask for your support and your vote to continue working together towards a future where Redwood City remains a place we are all proud to call home.
